Effluent Labs LLC ("Effluent Labs", "we", "us", or "our") operates effluentlabs.com. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to it. We keep this short because we collect very little.
Information you give us directly. When you contact us through our contact form, subscribe to our newsletter, or communicate with us by email, we receive the information you provide — typically your name, email address, facility name, and the content of your message.
Information collected automatically. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track visitors across sites. Plausible collects aggregate, anonymized data: page views, referrers, browser type, and country. No individual visitor is identified or tracked.
Information from clients. If you become a client, we receive and process lab data, permit documents, and DMR-related records that you share with us in order to provide our service. This information is treated as confidential client data.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Our newsletter, The Compliance Brief, is managed by Buttondown. If you subscribe, your email address is stored by Buttondown in accordance with their privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.
We retain contact form submissions and client communications for as long as is necessary to provide our services and comply with applicable legal obligations. Client records related to DMR submissions are retained for a minimum of five years, consistent with standard permit recordkeeping requirements under 40 CFR Part 122.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you by emailing us at privacy@effluentlabs.com. We will respond within 30 days.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. Client data is transmitted and stored using industry-standard encryption. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our website or services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
